The Four Seasons of Coaching
There are plenty of notable signs that a season is changing – sprouting buds, dropping temperature, falling leaves and the location of the sun, of course. Every single second of every single day we’re moving towards the next season.
When you lose someone to suicide, how can coaching help?
The world lost a celebrated dancer last week named Stephen “tWitch” Boss. The important conversation about mental health is yet again trending and is at the forefront of many people’s minds. Death by suicide causes ripples of grief that extend beyond immediate friends and family.
A handful of schools we work with have experienced similar circumstances – having lost students and staff members. We have personally felt the ripples.
Coach yourself over the holidays
The holidays are a perfect time to use your coaching skills on yourself! Coaching is a set of skills as much as it’s a way of being, so turn up your Me-Listening, meet yourself where you are and ask really Effective Questions this holiday season.
Here are two of our favourite coaching inspired holiday activities for you to enjoy.

Progress is a spiral
When we think about any change we want to make in our life, we often create a goal. I want to be more positive... I want to run more frequently... I want to watch less Netflix... The challenge is that when we think about growth and change linearly, it can feel like taking one step forward and three steps back, especially when we're trying to change a habit, and, in my case, one that was tied to my identity.
Top Tips for Finding the Way In
Announcing the theme to our Coaching Day Autumn 2022: Finding the Way In. The name was inspired by one of our Certified Start With Heart facilitators, who shared with us that, prior to learning coaching skills, there were many moments where she felt ill-equipped to have conversations with her colleagues about important and often emotional wellbeing topics and issues. It wasn’t until after she learned coaching skills that she had the tools to confidently find her way into and through a conversation.
