Great Things Start Small
Step into a day dedicated to empowering educators with the skills to create meaningful change—one small interaction at a time.
Coaching Day is an annual, community-centred event that explores the transformative effect of coaching on schools. This year’s theme, Great Things Start Small, invites you to discover how a single, well-timed question, a quick five-minute check-in, or a moment of true presence can spark powerful shifts. Through immersive workshops, hands-on activities, and real-life examples, you’ll gain simple, effective coaching tools to use in even your busiest moments.
Leave with concrete strategies to strengthen connections, ignite student engagement, and empower both students and colleagues.
The Millimetre shift
We often think coaching requires a lot of time—more time than we have. But what if it wasn’t about having more time, but rather, less time, more often?
We’ll be answering the following questions:
How can I weave coaching into my daily life and ultimately into the experiences of my colleagues and students?
What millimetre shifts can I make in how I interact in the hallway, staff room, boarding house, and classroom to strengthen my ability to create positive change?
Who else is integrating coaching into their school, and how can we support one another?
What is one thing I will commit to doing differently each day that could lead to something remarkable, and who will help hold me accountable?
Whether you’re a seasoned Certified Start With Heart Facilitator or exploring coaching for the first time, Coaching Day has something new to offer. Dive into a day of dynamic activities, thoughtful reflection, and practical skill-building tailored to support impactful, everyday interactions. Connect with other educators who are passionate about creating positive change through coaching. By the end of the day, you’ll be reenergszed and ready to bring fresh coaching techniques back to your school, fostering an environment where each interaction can make a difference.
“Coaching is community. The 2024 event reinforced that I don't have to do this alone. There are so many people that I could ask for advice from and get inspired by.”
- Maria Pia Maggioni, University College School
